ABOUT ME

BAS Graduation
M.Arch Graduation
My name is Rosabelle Mederick. I have recently completed my final year of Master of Architectural Studies (M.Arch) at the NMMU in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and I have graduated on the 15th of April 2016. I also completed my BAS (Bachelor of Architectural Studies) at the NMMU, and graduated on the 19th of April 2013.
During my undergraduate studies I was invited to join the Golden Key Internatonal Society, which acknowledges the academic achievement of the top 15 students in a class of any given course at university. This was a great honour.
Coming from the small tropical island state of the Seychelles, from a young age I was always fascinated by nature and creativity, and this led to a further interest in drawing and an increased appreciation of art. As a result, later on I decided to persue the art of architecture as a career path as I felt that this engaged skillfully with both logic and creativity, generating an ideal balance. I also believe that the abilty to create a particular environment to suit a person's needs is a unique one, and determining how they feel in a given space is quite a powerful concept.
I enjoy travel, adventures and seeking out new oppotunities - "Adventures are the best way to learn"
- "Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on , deep and permanent, in the ideas of living"
I am a very disciplined person and I beleive that being hardworking and organised are paramount to achieve any given goal. I am always open to suggestions and willing to learn and try out new things. When working, I always aim to be focused and productive to complete any given task.
I enjoy challenges as I believe that they help to keep the mind focused and active. I also enjoy thinking of innovative ideas and solutions to any given problem. I love spending my spare time exploring and doing creative things such as reading, beach adventures, designing, exercising and dancing.
There is a quote that says: "Doing what you like is freedom, liking what you do is happiness". In this regard, i feel that architecture has become a part of who am, I don't see it as just a profession.
